Keeping
up with the blog has been quite challenging over the past few weeks. I don’t
have the mind power or the energy to update you on the past week at the moment
so instead I’m just going to tell you how I am doing right now.
I
could say I am doing well, and I am, but there is also something that has
caused some concern over the past two days. On Thursday morning I woke up to my
head itching. My first reaction was lice. I proceeded to check my hair and
didn’t see anything to be concerned about. I continued on with my day with no
problems. That evening as I went to bed, I had an itchy sensation all over my
body. It was quite different than the itch I had from the bed bugs. Throughout
the night I woke up itchy. When morning came and I checked my skin, I knew
there was a problem. I had developed hives all over my body. I wasn’t quite
sure what to make of it. Of course the first thing I did was send a message and
pictures to my mom. It was clear that I was having an allergic reaction to
something but that something was unknown. I took some time to reflect on what I
had eaten and done over the past few that may trigger this reaction. Nothing
out of the norm came to mind. I walked a few minutes down the road to the
pharmacy (or chemist as they call it here). There is a friend from church who
is a pharmacist and I had hopes that he might be able to tell me something. He
gave me something to take. After taking the given medicine, my reaction
diminished.
Yet
that is not the end of my story. Again last night, I woke up in the middle of
the night with severe itching. This time it was primarily on the hands, feet,
and neck. Oh dear. I thought about taking some of the medicine again but
decided against it because it hadn’t been 24 since the last dose. I went to bed
to wake up to hives over my body once again. Although not monstrous, there was
also a little swelling to my eyes. To what I can blame this on, I do not know.
Hopefully it will get better within the next few days but if it does not, I may
go see a doctor.
Ah! I hope you feel better soon!!
